Anan Copty, PhD
Anan received the B.S. degree from Gordon College in 1994, the M.S. degree from Boston College in 1998, and a Ph.D. degree in physics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2005. He worked at the Harvard Physics Department in particle trapping experiments, the Harvard–Smithsonian Astrophysics Center on a UV detector to study astrophysical plasmas and an ultraviolet coronagraph spectrometer, launched on the space instrument SOHO. At the Harvard Medical School he designed RF coils for magnetic resonance studies. He was a Staff Scientist at Radiation Monitoring Devices, Boston where he developed avalanche photodiodes for biomedical applications. During his PhD studies he developed near-field microwave applicators to study the interaction of microwaves with biological media. Anan joined Intel in 2004 where he worked in the R&D of new technologies including RF MEMS devices and bio-sensors. Later, Anan led the device physics group in start-up phases of the 45nm and 22nm technologies through the development and manufacturing groups in Israel/Portland. In 2014, he worked with the RF Analog Design group on a transceiver chip based on the 14nm technology. Anan founded Noninvasive Medical Devices in 2015, a start-up involved in cancer treatment through hyperthermia using microwave heating coupled with nanotechnology. In 2015, he became a board member of JEST, a Jerusalem based accelerator to help start-ups in East Jerusalem. In 2018, he founded SynergyMed, a medical device company focused on the treatment of cancer through noninvasive thermal ablation for human and veterinary applications. His responsibilities include managing the R&D work, fund raising, business development, regulatory development, grant proposal writing, patent writing, market study, and strategic roadmap of the company.
